If life feels overwhelming, high pressure or harder to manage than it should, you don’t have to figure it out alone.

Real support. Practical strategies.
A way forward.

I offer professional counselling that keeps things simple, human and solutions-focused — helping people gain clarity, build confidence and develop practical tools for real life.

Counselling without the jargon or guesswork.

Seeking support can feel uncomfortable. Many people wait far too long before reaching out. You might be successful on the outside, managing work, family, expectations and pressure — while quietly feeling overwhelmed, stuck, stressed or unsupported.

My approach is straightforward and welcoming.

I take time to understand your perspective, build trust, and work alongside you to help you navigate life’s challenges with practical strategies that fit the real world.

This is not about vague advice or endless talking in circles.

It’s about helping you understand what’s happening, find a way forward, and leave sessions with tools you can actually use.

What I can help with

Whether you’re facing a major life challenge or simply feeling like things are becoming too much, counselling can help create clarity, direction and practical change.

Anxiety, Worry & Emotional Strain

When your mind feels busy, tense or constantly on alert, even simple parts of life can become exhausting. I can help you understand what is driving your anxiety, recognise unhelpful patterns, and develop practical tools to feel calmer, clearer and more in control.

Rebuild self-worth, challenge unhelpful self-talk, and move forward with a stronger, more grounded sense of confidence.

Identify what’s creating pressure and develop healthier, more sustainable ways to manage it — before it reaches crisis point.

Untangle your thoughts, reconnect with what matters, and take practical steps forward when something needs to change.

Space to think clearly, process what’s happening, and build strategies to carry demanding roles and responsibilities with more confidence.

Support through change, uncertainty and personal challenges — space to reflect, reset and move forward, even when change is expected.

Who I Work With

At Geoff Upston Counselling, we often work with adults, couples, teens, families and groups, offering practical counselling support for life’s pressures, emotional strain, communication challenges and times when things feel unclear.

The focus is always on creating a calm, respectful space where people can talk openly, feel heard, and work towards practical next steps.

Geoff Upston

I believe counselling should be clear, safe and grounded in real life.

Built around trust, empathy and practical support — helping people make sense of what they’re experiencing without judgement, unnecessary jargon or overly complicated approaches.

I understand what it can feel like to function in high-pressure environments with limited support, and the loneliness and stress that can come with that.

My role is not to tell you who to be or what your story should look like. It’s to work in partnership with you, listening carefully, understanding your viewpoint, and helping you build the tools, confidence and strategies needed to move forward.
